A brief history from Ron and Juanita Marlin

In 1984 my wife and I started Marlin Plant Kingdom.  Our motto is "All life stems from the plant kingdom"

We started out by growing 500 fall mums in our garden along with our vegetables.  Juanita enjoyed going to the farmer's market in nearby Greenfield, Indiana to help sell our products.  We also sold produce from a booth in our yard.

I built our first greenhouse, which was 20 feet wide by 48 feet long, during the winter of 1984.  Buoyed by our success with this first house, we decided to build more greenhouses.

Today we now have over 21,000 square feet of plant space under our greenhouses.  We grow a wide variety of vegetable plants, annuals, and perennials--all grown from seed right here in our greenhouses.  My daughter Pam does all the sowing of this seed.  We also grow all of our mums and poinsettias from cuttings that we grow-out right here in our operation.

Juanita and I work year-round starting seedlings and transplanting so that we are able to grow the best plants that we can for YOU, our customers.

We also support special projects to beautify local towns.

Quality Starts Here

After sowing, the seeds are put to bed with a nice coating of vermiculite and a soaking of water

Prepared and watered, the trays are placed on a nice, warm bed to aid in the germination

After several days, the reward for all that patient TLC begins to show as the plants pop up

Before long, those annuals will start filling their trays like these perennials prior to transplanting
